About the team
Common Services is a highly collaborative, autonomous, and cross-functional team on a mission to reduce the technical complexity of GBG products by discovering and delivering solutions to the challenges they have in common.
So far, we have provided single solutions for Sign On & User Admin (SSO), GDPR Compliant Audit, and Rapid Supplier Data Integrations. Each of these solutions has become essential to multiple GBG products.
The role
As a Common Services DevOps Engineer, you will collaborate with Product, Development, and QA Engineers to find, deliver, and maintain solutions to the challenges we set. You will have opportunities to contribute across all engineering disciplines, but you will specialise and focus on Deployment, Security, and Operations.
You will seek out opportunities to uplift the team’s operational excellence and, via your advocacy for a DevOps culture, ensure that the team seizes them.
What you will do
1. Support Reliability, Security, and Efficiency: Assist in maintaining the reliability, security, and efficiency of software engineering and continuous delivery tooling.
2. Monitoring and Analytics: Help design and implement monitoring, notification, and analytics tooling.
3. DevOps Culture: Advocate for and support the development of a DevOps culture within the team.
4. System and Compliance Audits: Assist in overseeing periodic system audits, compliance audits, and preparedness for possible recovery actions.
5. Cloud Architecture: Contribute to the reliability, security, and cost efficiency of cloud architecture.
