Job Title: Project Manager
Location: Head Office or Site-Based (Glasgow + Edinburgh)
Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 per annum
Role Overview:
My client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee and manage key aspects of Health & Safety, cost control, project timelines, and specifications for various construction projects. Reporting directly to the Operations Director, the Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring successful project delivery and compliance with internal and external standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage all site operations including maintaining records such as daily labour and plant sheets, site diaries, and Health & Safety documentation (e.g., inductions, Method Statements, Risk & COSHH assessments).
2. Oversee the hiring and monitoring of plant and equipment, ensuring security and timely return.
3. Track project progress against programme schedules, identify recovery tasks, and monitor key deadlines.
4. Implement and manage a Quality Management Strategy, including sign-offs, snagging, benchmarks, and compliance monitoring.
5. Prepare financial information for valuations, subcontractor progress, and variations reporting.
6. Develop and manage site strategies for Hazard Awareness and Risk Assessment in compliance with the company's Safety Policies.
7. Oversee forward planning for resources and supply chain management, ensuring effective performance.
8. Attend Pre-Start Client Meetings and progress meetings, providing comprehensive updates and reports.
9. Manage and monitor the performance of subcontractors and operatives, addressing any non-conformities.
10. Ensure full PPE compliance on-site and across teams.
11. Drive environmental policy compliance across project sites.
12. Promote company branding and image through proper dress code and professional conduct.
13. Coordinate subcontractor meetings and ensure competence compliance through regular reviews and updates.
14. Report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and performance measures. Handle complaints and queries, formulating action plans to address and close them out.
15. Manage the project according to agreed timelines and plans, adapting strategies as necessary. Ensure site documentation and files are organized according to the company's standard practices.
Additional Responsibilities:
1. Assist in the development and compliance of the Construction Phase Health & Safety Plan and contribute to the Operations and Maintenance Manual.
2. Keep updated Drawing Registers and maintain accurate site files.
3. Manage site logistics for materials storage and protection of installed fixtures and equipment.
4. Ensure accurate completion and submission of HMRC CIS Subcontractor Forms and CSCS card compliance.
5. Provide mentoring and guidance to trainees, apprentices, and work experience staff.
6. Maintain responsibility for company vehicles, property, and equipment.
7. Attend client presentations and forums as required.
8. Manage trades and subcontractors’ performance, ensuring quality, safety, and programme targets are met.
9. Use IT tools to manage schedules, generate reports, and maintain site records.
10. Collaborate with Senior Management to align project goals with company objectives.
Requirements:
1. IOSH Managing Safely and SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) qualifications are required or candidates should be willing to enroll.
2. A valid CSCS Card for management-level roles.
3. First Aid Certificate is essential. Proven ability to communicate and motivate site workers and subcontractors effectively.
4. Competence in implementing recovery plans and tracking performance progress. Strong IT skills, with the ability to use technology to manage projects and maintain records.
The role will require flexibility in duties as directed by Senior Management, with a focus on supporting the overall objectives of the company and ensuring successful project delivery.
