Health and Safety Officer £25,000 - £45,000 per annum DOE Commission: £100 for each successful WIP check (up to £400 per month in additional commission) Hours: Monday to Friday | 9am - 5pm Location: Birmingham, West Midlands (with travel required) | Fuel Costs will be covered We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Health and Safety Officer to join our team within the eco-energy sector. This role will be based in Birmingham and will require travel to various project sites across the region. Ideal candidates will have a construction background and experience in maintaining high health and safety standards on-site. Key Responsibilities: Conduct regular health and safety inspections on-site, ensuring compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations. Act as a point of contact for health and safety concerns, providing advice and support to staff and contractors. Assist with the development and implementation of safety policies and procedures across all projects. Conduct risk assessments and safety audits, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as necessary. Ensure that safety equipment is properly maintained and available on-site. Liaise with external bodies, such as regulatory agencies and insurers, to ensure all legal and safety requirements are met. Promote a safety-first culture on all projects, offering training and awareness sessions for staff and contractors. Required Skills and Qualifications: Health and safety experience, preferably within the construction industry or eco-energy sector. IOSH qualification. NEBOSH qualification; if not, candidates with IOSH will be supported in gaining NEBOSH certification. Full driving license and willingness to travel to sites. Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team. Knowledge of construction health and safety regulations and best practices. Ability to lead safety audits and risk assessments.
