Associate Forensic Fire Surveyor
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Associate Forensic Fire Surveyor to lead and develop a team of Forensic Fire Surveyors in our Wales Site Team.
This role is pivotal in addressing the growing demand driven by our appointment to key Welsh Government frameworks and schemes.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct detailed site inspections and reporting, working collaboratively with fire engineers, building owners, and contractors to develop and implement effective remediation plans.
* Assess building cladding systems and passive fire protection measures to ensure compliance with fire safety regulations, including the Building Safety Act and other relevant standards and guidance documents.
Main Duties
* Conduct external wall cladding assessments and compartmentation/firestopping surveys on buildings to evaluate fire performance and compliance with safety regulations.
* Prepare detailed reports that will inform a fire engineer to create Fire Risk Appraisal of External Wall Systems (FRAEWS) and External Wall Fire Review (EWS1) forms, in line with regulatory requirements.
Requirements
* A degree in Civil Engineering, Building Surveying, Fire Engineering, Façade Engineering, or a related discipline or 10 years of recognised prior experience in these fields.
* Chartered status (RICS, IFE, CIOB, CABE) or working towards membership is highly desirable.
