Directorate
We are seeking a pro-active, self-motivated and enthusiastic person for the role of Outreach and Recruitment Officer. The successful candidate will work with Pre16, Post 16 and Adult Learners in key schools and colleges to raise aspirations and awareness of higher education, support students through the application process, promote the University of Bradford and enable the University to achieve its recruitment targets.
What you will be doing:
The Outreach and Recruitment Officer will effectively account manage a designated group of schools and colleges, pro-actively meeting with staff at these institutions to discuss their requirements, informing them of the University’s offer and planning a programme of engagement activities to meet the needs of their student groups. They will also pro-actively seek new business development opportunities to broaden the University’s reach of schools and colleges in local, regional, national markets.
The role will be expected to meet mutually agreed recruitment targets (including numbers of visits, lead generation and student recruitment numbers) for schools and colleges within the target regions.
Working closely with colleagues in marketing, the Outreach and Recruitment Officer will develop content for recruitment presentations, printed and online marketing material for prospective students and key influencers including parents and carer and teachers and advisors.
The University operates a hybrid working model, but there is an expectation that individuals are available to work on campus to meet service demand. As a new colleague it would be expected that to assist with settling into the role and building working relationships that at least for the first few months the majority of working days will be on campus. Longer term, days on campus will be worked around school and college visits and other recruitment events.
Qualifications/ experience:
GCSE English and Maths or equivalent
Experience of working with under-represented groups in higher education
Customer service experience face to face, via telephone and email in a professional manner
