Your Role We are seeking an experienced Head of Health and Safety to lead the development and delivery of our comprehensive health and safety framework, ensuring compliance with legislation and regulations that impact our customers, visitors and colleagues. This role offers a unique opportunity to embed a positive safety culture across the organisation, leading a dedicated team and collaborating with senior leadership to achieve our strategic goals. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a health and safety strategy aligned with business objectives, ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation and best practices. Health and Safety Culture: Lead the development of a positive safety culture, ensuring the integration of health and safety in all areas of the business, from strategic planning to operational delivery. Compliance and Reporting: Serve as the 'Responsible Person' for RIDDOR compliance, liaise with regulatory bodies, and manage the reporting of health and safety incidents. Team Leadership & Risk Management: Lead and develop a high-performing health and safety team to implement compliance programs, audits, training, and risk management processes. Training & Development: Design and deliver health and safety training across all levels of the organisation to meet statutory obligations and promote a culture of safety. Performance Measurement: Monitor KPIs, track health and safety performance, and report progress to the Board, ensuring corrective actions are taken when required. Budget Management: Oversee the health and safety budget, ensuring effective financial management in line with organisational goals and external advice. What We Are Looking For Chartered Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (CMIOSH) with evidence of Continuous Professional Development (CPD). Educated to degree level or equivalent. Evidence of post-graduate study in a related field of occupational safety and health (Desirable). NEBOSH Diploma in occupational safety and health or equivalent. NEBOSH certificate in fire safety or equivalent (Desirable). The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of health and safety legislative requirements and guidance, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and best practices across the Group. Ideally you will have a solid grasp of cultural change and business continuity management, with a proven ability to align health and safety strategies with the overall business objectives. Additionally, you will review and shape services to ensure they remain fit for purpose. A high level of IT literacy is required, including proficiency in health and safety-related IT systems, data analysis, and presenting management information.
