An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as a consultant dermatologist in Worcestershire, re-establishing an NHS secondary care dermatology department. We aim to rebuild this into a centre of excellence serving Worcestershire with high-quality, sustainable dermatology services. The department will be managed by Wye Valley NHS Trust in Hereford, which has a successful track record, including the BMJ Dermatology Team of the Year award 2021.
Applicants with interests in inflammatory dermatoses, patch testing, phototherapy, Mohs surgery, and paediatric dermatology are encouraged to apply.
Main duties of the job
We seek a consultant dermatologist to work in Worcestershire as part of an ICS-wide service under Wye Valley NHS Trust. We offer flexible working arrangements to promote work-life balance. Candidates with general dermatology skills and interest in developing sub-specialties are preferred. The role involves leading a dedicated dermatology nursing team and managing a range of dermatological conditions, including skin cancer and inflammatory dermatoses. Facilities for Mohs surgery, phototherapy, biological therapies, and patch testing are available. The role will also involve teledermatology and collaboration with primary care, with an increasing focus on AI and service development aligned with NHS objectives.
