Job description
As a Housing Supply Officer, you will be working with the market to improve the supply of TA and PRS Housing to fulfil the LA homelessness duties.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Negotiating with managing agents and landlords to procure and renew various forms of leased temporary and settled accommodation, to meet the needs of homeless clients to whom the Council has a statutory responsibility.
* Monitoring, maintaining and carrying out all duties and responsibilities to achieve the target levels of procurement within timescales.
* Negotiating with managing agents, landlords and tenants to procure and allocate suitable private rented accommodation as a homeless prevention measure, or as a means of discharging duty for clients accommodated in temporary accommodation.
* Ensuring all acquisition and housing data is accurately recorded on notes and IT systems.
* Monitoring, maintaining and carrying out all duties and responsibilities to achieve the target levels of procurement within timescales.
* Acting as a first point of contact and offer advice when dealing with landlord, managing agent and tenant enquiries and complaints, which arise as part of your day-to-day activity and through dedicated channels of communication.
* Carrying out all accountabilities in compliance with the Council’s Policies and Procedures.
Requirements:
* A sound knowledge of current legislation related to the acquisition and leasing of property used as TA and PRS Housing.
* Knowledge of Housing Law (Landlord & Tenant).
* Demonstrating the effective use of time and resources to meet challenging targets and deadlines.
* Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
* Excellent IT skills.
* Can use initiative to prioritise a heavy workload with several work streams independently of others.
* Experience of working with several parties to achieve a successful outcome.
