Based at the Oxford, UK offices, but with hybrid working available, the successful candidate will become an integral member of an established team responsible for tracking, forecasting and communicating powertrain and electrification trends at a detailed level. In recent times, this area has been the fastest-growing discipline within GlobalData’s Automotive Intelligence Centre and offers great scope for career progression for the right individual.
As the industry shifts to electrification, powertrain is becoming a bigger share of the value of a new vehicle, driving huge investment decisions in the sector. We are looking for an industry professional who will help guide our activities in this area, is fascinated by what lies ‘under the bonnet’ and can help us to interpret the impact of technical and regulatory events for our extensive client list. Working closely not only with the powertrain and vehicle forecasting teams in Oxford, but also with teams in other regions, you will have the opportunity to use your analytical and leadership skills to the maximum in the pursuit of industry-leading research and forecasts.

* Use all available sector information and research activities to help the team prioritise tasks and predict the impact of such information on the powertrain and electrification fitment and sales forecasts.
* Be highly inquisitive about emerging technical trends and what they may mean for powertrain forecasts.
* Assist in the preparation of regional powertrain reports & forecast deliverables on a regular basis.
* Work with global teams to ensure quality in forecasts and global consistency.
* Manage your own research independently, with necessary input from colleagues and senior managers.
* Support clients as necessary in activities including, but not limited to, answering client questions, conducting client briefings and participating in webinar presentations to the client base.
* Work with the BD team as required to support the sales, marketing and consulting efforts of the company.
What we're looking for...
* A track record of working in an automotive or analytical/technical role, preferably with leadership responsibility.
* Experience in light vehicle automotive powertrain research and development at an automotive OEM or high tier supplier would be seen as advantageous.
* Workplace exposure to the development and integration of electrified powertrains would be an asset.
* The ability to recognise key issues, threats, and trends across the automotive powertrain sector.
* Strong relationship building skills, able to build up connections both within GlobalData and in the industry to facilitate in-depth research.
* Strong research skills, and ability and interest in working with large databases and numerical systems.
* Strong database skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, in particular Excel and PowerPoint.
