We have a fantastic opportunity to join the Greggs Digital team as a Web Digital Product Owner. You will be responsible for driving the development of and the Greggs group websites, to deliver the best outcomes for our customers and the business.
The successful candidate will work as part of an Agile product development team and will be responsible for prioritising customer-first, outcome-led features that enhance our digital experiences and align with our strategic direction and meet evolving user needs. We are looking for candidates with excellent communication skills and a data-led mindset who will take an empirical approach to prioritisation.
This role acts as the key bridge between the web squad and internal and external stakeholders and third parties to ensure our digital products enable our customers to engage with Greggs in a fast, friendly, and frictionless way every day.

About the role
17. This is a full-time role, however flexibility in this will be considered
18. The role is a 9-month fixed term contract

What you'll do
21. Develop a deep understanding of customer and business needs, our digital products, and the competitive landscape
22. Complete comprehensive data analysis of web digital product performance and customer behaviour, unlocking insight and communicating this clearly and effectively to the wider Digital team and business and inform future iterations and new features
23. Hold customer listening sessions, utilise user research and regularly review product performance to develop a deep understanding of the customer
24. Invest time in building relationships across the business, gathering an understanding of business processes and needs, and working closely with stakeholders throughout the discovery & development process
25. Maintain a strong understanding of the FTG market, developing an unrivalled knowledge of competitor’s digital products and the technology landscape
26. Be accountable for the product discovery process; coordinating sessions for upcoming items and ensuring progression through the discovery pipeline and onto the backlog
27. Own the web product backlog, making sure it is detailed, emergent, estimated, and prioritised, including writing user stories with relevant acceptance criteria that are ready for the development team
28. Work closely with the Product Manager, Product Analysts, Agile Delivery Leads, and Tech Leads to ensure you discover, refine and prioritise the backlog of work to build customer-centric products
29. Work with UX/UI & User Research to ensure we research, test, and deliver appropriate designs
30. Escalation of any potential issues, risks or defects uncovered as appropriate
31. Pursue customer and business value in an empirical way ensuring there is accurate monitoring of results and adjusting tactics based upon performance
About you
You will fit right into this role if you
32. Have a passion for building digital products that deliver value to customers.
33. Possess existing experience in delivering best-in-class websites in an Agile product development environment, ideally within a major retailer or consumer-facing FMCG business.
34. Demonstrate excellent communication skills to allow effective working relationships with all team members and stakeholders, building trust, listening, influencing, and keeping everyone informed of progress or changes in approach.
35. Are a cross-functional leader who enjoys seeking diverse input and collaborating with multiple stakeholder groups to reach the best possible outcomes for our customers and the business.
36. Exhibit strong organisational skills to allow you to balance multiple competing priorities and retain a focus on what is most important.
37. Have a data-led mindset with MVT experience and are comfortable working with tools such as Google Analytics, Hotjar, and Power BI, extracting value from this data to make informed prioritisation decisions.
38. Can present insights to stakeholders in a clear and understandable way.
39. Have technical literacy and a working understanding of architecture and cloud services or 3rd party tools relevant to web development.
40. Are passionate about retail and digital and are up to speed on the latest tech trends.
41. Thrive working within a dynamic and rapidly changing environment.
42. Have a positive, proactive, hands-on style and would enjoy contributing towards building an adaptive, fun, and creative environment for digital in Greggs.
