The Visual Impairment (VI) Team provides support to children with vision impairments from birth to secondary school age and beyond, including those children with complex needs.
Job Overview
We are currently looking to appoint a motivated individual to provide excellent support to visually impaired pupils within our secondary resource provision at Crofton Academy. If successful, you will be joining a team that is happy and supportive and will work in a role that is both fulfilling and rewarding.
Responsibilities
1. Support visually impaired pupils in their learning and development.
2. Collaborate with team members to create a supportive educational environment.
3. Utilize good communication skills and computer proficiency.
4. Demonstrate problem-solving abilities and initiative.
Qualifications
The right candidate will enjoy working as part of a team and will be committed to helping children learn and make progress. You should possess good communication skills, feel confident using a computer and have a willingness to learn. The ability to solve problems and to use your own initiative is important, whilst optimism and a sense of humour is a must. Experience of working with children with special educational needs, particularly visual impairment would be an advantage; however, training will be given to the right person.
