We have a rare opportunity for a permanent role within Housing Need Allocations Team. The post holder will be part of a small, busy team of 3 officers allocating all vacant properties belonging to West Lothian Council and a percentage of vacant properties belonging to registered social landlords. Officers are responsible for the implementation of all housing policies and procedures and ensure compliance with current legislation, regulation and good practice.
Allocations officers are responsible for the delivery of a high-quality customer focused housing service, which delivers the council’s commitments in achieving sustainable communities.
The post holder will have the ability to work effectively under your own initiative in a high demand environment within a small team. Be competent and confident in the decision-making process in relation to complex housing tasks and resolve problems to progress casework and achieve good outcomes for applicants and to improve our working practices.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for skilled and highly motivated individual who has a deep understanding and first-hand experience of delivering housing allocations policy and working processes, and is experienced in working in an environment where you are using your own initiative, are able to plan and organise your workload, and enjoy achieve performance targets and providing an excellent customer service to our customers and partners
We are looking for applicants who have excellent communication skills and can help sustain our strong partnership working with our key partners, and can deliver information targeted to the audience.
