About the Role: This role is perfect for an English graduate with a passion for education and a desire to support young people in their academic and personal development. Key Responsibilities: Support students in English lessons, both in small groups and on a one-to-one basis, to help them grasp complex concepts and develop their skills. Provide additional assistance to students who may require extra support with literacy, including those with special educational needs (SEN). Assist teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons, helping to create a positive learning environment for all students. Encourage students to develop confidence in their reading, writing, and analytical skills, fostering a love of English. Monitor student progress, providing feedback to teachers and the school’s SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) as appropriate. Work with students to develop strategies for exam preparation, time management, and effective study habits. Support the planning and execution of classroom activities and enrichment opportunities related to English and literacy. What We’re Looking For: The ideal candidate will: Hold a degree in English or a related subject. Have a strong passion for English literature and language, with the ability to inspire students. Be patient, empathetic, and adaptable, with a genuine interest in helping young people succeed. Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Be organized, proactive, and willing to take initiative in supporting students and staff. Prior experience working with young people, either in an educational setting or through voluntary roles, is advantageous but not essential.
