Role Overview:
An Ecologist Consultant is needed to join the growing team and contribute to the delivery of outstanding ecological services. The role involves conducting a range of ecological assessments, including BNG (Biodiversity Net Gain) assessments and Phase 1 bat surveys. The successful candidate will also manage client relationships and oversee smaller-scale projects, collaborating closely with landscape and planning teams to ensure seamless project delivery. Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct BNG (Biodiversity Net Gain) assessments and Phase 1 bat surveys
* Liaise directly with clients, providing updates and maintaining strong relationships
* Manage small-scale ecological projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget
* Collaborate closely with the landscape and planning teams on multi-disciplinary projects
* Prepare and review reports, proposals, and ecological assessments
* Support less experienced team members in their professional development
* Assist with ecological site surveys and other fieldwork as required
Qualifications & Skills Needed:
* Experience in conducting BNG assessments and Phase 1 bat surveys
* Proven ability to manage smaller projects and liaise effectively with clients
* Strong understanding of UK ecology and environmental regulations
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Team-oriented, with the ability to work well within a multi-disciplinary environment
* A relevant degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field
* Protected species licenses and/or other relevant certifications are desirable
