The Role
We are seeking a Technical Assistant. You will be responsible for managing the technical paperwork and completed documentation and to support the QA/technical team in all areas. With the focus on delivering and maintaining technical services as part of the wider technical and quality team. To support the QA Lead in ensuring Quality Management System (QMS) compliance, attainment of customer and regulatory standards and maintenance of 3rd party accreditations e.g., BRC. The candidate should have experience of a working knowledge of QA systems management and HACCP implementation.
Role & Responsibilities
1. To ensure the control, quarantine, and corrective action of any non-conforming products at all stages from intake to dispatch.
2. The monitoring of hygiene, housekeeping, food safety, traceability, allergen management, legality and quality.
3. Raise supplier nonconformance/ rejection notifications and follow up investigations within requested timeframes.
4. Supporting customer complaint investigations.
5. Conducting various internal and external audits including, GMP, metal detection and reporting and documenting non-conformances whilst ensuring adherence to all procedures set out in the company’s quality manual.
6. Undertaking routine product testing and environmental swabbing and take lead on training amongst staff relating to quality and safety of the product. Liaise where necessary with pest control contacts.
7. Undertaking monitoring and trending of the companies KPIs and reporting these to the management team and manage daily records effectively and accurately.
8. Manage the site document control process.
Requirements
9. Pragmatic, adaptable and resilient;
10. A proven track record of QA, systems management or HACCP in food manufacturing;
11. Strong understanding of production and packing processes;
12. Working knowledge of process capability and target setting;
13. Hungry for a challenge and keen to build something from the ground up;
14. Someone who loves the pace and excitement of FMCG
15. Knowledge of Food Legislation.
16. Ability to prioritise, multitask and meet deadlines.
