As part of this role, you’ll be responsible for analysing complex data and market industry information from multiple sources to develop strategic sourcing recommendations. We’ll look to you to identify unique sources for data and information, conducting opportunity assessments, benchmarking, cost modelling and root cause analysis to develop sourcing recommendations. As our indirects buyer, you’ll be independently managing strategic sourcing and supplier management of some indirect spend categories based on market complexity, including building and executing category sourcing strategies.
We’ll look to you to bring your strong commercial understanding, ideally within a retail or hospitality environment. We’re looking for a strong negotiator who can apply contract management and supplier relationship management principles. You’ll have working knowledge of market analysis, sourcing category strategy, ‘should-cost’ models as well as knowledge of procurement legal, non-complex contracting and business ethics. We’re looking for a strong data analyst who can analyse complex data from multiple sources to drive decisions, strategies and market trends at pace.
The best part about this role is that no two days are ever the same! Working as our indirects buyer, you’ll get involved in:
* Leading the sourcing strategy: knowing who the key industry players, competitors and market dynamics that inform recommendations
* Developing sourcing strategies for some indirect spend categories whilst managing suppliers and internal networks to deliver best in class performance for the relevant area
* Conducting opportunity assessments, benchmarking, cost modelling and root cause analysis to develop sourcing recommendations
* Managing spend commodities relevant to indirect categories
* Negotiating and executing contracts for targeted spend categories under your control
* Monitoring market trends, competitor activity, price positioning and stock availability, working cross-functionally to react appropriately to maximise sales, profitability and market share
* Liaising and negotiating with suppliers to identify the most cost-effective suppliers
* Developing supplier assessments, score cards and other analytics to enable the team to effectively manage supplier performance
* Assisting in managing complex, cross-functional projects
* Coaching and developing the wider procurement team to support their development
