GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Responsible for defining Technical Release Management processes
2. Responsible for incorporating Continual Service Improvement into Release Management processes
3. Manages and maintains an overview/baseline of all versions of all products in a software package
4. Ensures that each release build is complete
5. Creates platform build tickets
6. Delivers platform builds to Deployment Management and communicates contents
7. Assures the quality of release instructions
8. Understands and manages technical/system dependencies between various components in a release, including back out processes
9. Ensures that each defined release will be deployed consistently in every environment it is installed to
10. Identifies potential improvements to deployment artefacts and tooling for the various components
11. Responsible for Leadership/coordination and success of all deployments into environments
12. Responsible for scheduling deployments into environments (proactively or at environment owners' request)
13. Handles on-demand deployment requests negotiating flexibility, challenging stakeholders and expectation management
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in technical discipline or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.
GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
1. Knowledge of multiple operating systems and related utilities and hardware
2. Knowledge of storage management
3. Knowledge of TCP/IP
4. Knowledge of network monitoring and tools
5. Knowledge of technical writing principles and practices
6. Skill to effectively analyze and solve problems
7. Skill in software installation and maintenance
8. Ability to work independently as well as with a team
9. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
10. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, vendors, clients and public
