Band 6 Perinatal Mental Health Practitioner - Solihull Perinatal Team

The Perinatal Mental Health Service provides multi-disciplinary specialised care throughout the West Midlands, treating mothers with mental health problems during pregnancy and in the first year post-partum. The NHS Long Term Plan (LTP) will see perinatal services expanding its remit to seeing approximately 10% of the birth rate, seeing women for up to 2 years postnatally.
Solihull Perinatal Team provides specialist perinatal service for women living in the Solihull Borough or with a Solihull GP, who are experiencing moderate to severe mental illness during the perinatal period.
We are seeking an additional mental health practitioner from a nursing or social work background to join this new service to contribute their clinical skills and care coordinate a specialist caseload.
Main Duties of the Job
Applicants will need to have a genuine interest in working with women and families in the perinatal period, have excellent communication and multi-agency liaison skills, and a good knowledge of safeguarding. Experience of working in the Perinatal Mental Health field is desirable but not essential. Qualifications
* Mental Health Practitioner professional registration in nursing or social work
* Post registration training in perinatal mental health
* Additional training in mental health interventions, DBT approach, CFT, CBT
Knowledge/Experience
* Experience of working in women's mental health service
* Experience of working with families
* Experience of working within community mental health
* Experience of working within perinatal mental health
