Description We have an incredible opportunity for a Senior Service Electrical Engineer to join the Service team to perform and provide technical support for all practical aspects of installation, modification, commissioning and maintenance of Powell products. Installation Witnessing of the offloading of switchgear at the customer site. Moving and locating switchgear into switch room. Aligning the switchboard and bolting together, fixing to the floor. Carry out connecting wiring into tiers. Installing fish plates. Carrying out Flash, Megger and Ducter Tests. Retro fit and obsolete, replacing existing equipment with new. Pre commissioning Review control wiring against latest revision drawings. Ensuring breakers rack in and out freely. Carry out inputting protection relay settings issued by client. Visual inspection (Mechanical & Electrical interlocks) Record results of tests. Commissioning (SAT Site Acceptance Testing) Commissioning may be carried out again in line with customers’ requirements. Carrying out a full function test of a switchboard. Review Relay protection settings. To provide a concise site report and feedback following site work with any recommendations or outstanding issues. Ensure the timely completion of Site work documentation (Site reports, Test certificates, Site work time sheets, Site work expenses etc.) The safe and timely execution of Site Services contracts in the UK, Offshore and Overseas. The ability to effectively communicate using both verbal and written communication that delivers high levels of confidence in those dealt with. A good technical background with specific bias towards the installation, commissioning & maintenance of Low Voltage and Medium Voltage Switchgear and associated equipment. The ability to meet the expectations of both internal and external customers, clients and suppliers through a sound understanding of their requirements, being responsive to their needs and exceeding their requirements. The ability to think through and adopt a clear, sensible approach to planning, prioritising and organising tasks and activities to meet deadlines and targets. Qualification / Professional Background The ideal candidate shall have good experience of installation, commissioning and maintenance of 415V LV & 11kV MV switchboards, preferably within an Oil & Gas/Petrochem environment. Educated to a minimum of ONC in Electrical engineering preferred or an equivalent electrical qualification. Previous experience of testing Electronic Protection Relays and associated communication systems is essential. The ability to read schematic drawings. Successful candidates must have a legal authorisation to work in the United Kingdom on a full-time basis, with only those candidates selected for interview contacted. A minimum of 2 years’ experience with the ability to perform commissioning and maintenance tasks with independence and expertise Full clean UK driving license.
