An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to join our Phlebotomy Team as Senior Phlebotomist. We have a part-time post (20 hours) available.
You will have the ability to work flexibly in order to meet changing work demands of the service. You will be expected to work across two sites to cover the services at Barnsley Hospital and the Community Diagnostic Centre at the Glass Works in Barnsley town centre. The hours will include evening and weekend working.
We are looking for a team player who is able to use their own initiative and cope well under pressure. You will be willing to undertake training and already possess a good understanding of confidentiality and health and safety. You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate at all levels.
Previous supervisory experience would be advantageous but not essential.
Main duties of the job
This role is to obtain blood samples from adult patients through venepuncture. You will assist with the training of new Phlebotomists, supervise the Phlebotomists, and provide assistance to the Phlebotomy Manager with organisational responsibilities.
