Job summary The Adult and Specialist Rehabilitation Division of BCHC is looking to recruit a Trainee Rehabilitation Engineer (Clinical Technologist ). The successful applicant will undertake the IPEM Clinical Technologist Training Scheme with the intention of meeting the requirements of the Register of Clinical Technologists or the Academy of Healthcare Science Register. The position we are recruiting to is that of a Trainee Rehabilitation Engineer to based across Worcestershire and Herefordshire Wheelchair Services. You will already have suitable qualifications such as a mechanical or medical engineering degree or alternative qualifications with relevent experience to be eligible to join the IPEM Clinical Technologist Training Scheme Main duties of the job We require a trainee Rehabilitation Engineer (healthcare science practitioner / clinical tecnologist) to undergo a formal training programme to become a qualified member of our Rehabilitation Engineering team to support our future staff needs The position is patient facing and very hands on with respect to using hand tools to adjust and fit equipment. You will be required you to build a portfolio of evidence throughout the 2 year scheme which together with observed practice will be assessed by IPEM Moderators. The Rehabilitation Engineer Service is based in Selly Oak, Birmingham however the training placement is primarily based at Worcestershire and Herefordshire Wheelchair Services currently based at Crown Lane, Wychbold, WR9 0BX and Ruckhall Lane, Belmont, Hereford HR2 9RP respectively. However, some placements and learning opportunities will be based at other locations, generally within the West Midlands.
