Senior/Principal Electrical Engineer - Good Salary - Permanent Industrial an Off-Road Systems - South Derby Area - Rail and Mining Sector A Senior/Principal Electrical Engineer is required to join a market leading Innovative Industrial and Off-Road Systems Company that is nearly 100 years old and is a leading UK supplier with significant growth expectations, so an exceptional time to join the organisation. The Senior/Principal Electrical Engineer will be Reporting to the Engineering Director. The Senior/Principal Electrical Engineer will lead a small but growing team, working on designs for Industrial Systems and related off-road products for the rail and mining sector. The products and size of platforms range dependent on project and end client and are powered by Diesel, electric, battery or hybrid technologies. This Senior/Principal Electrical Engineer opportunity is a chance to join a team that is close working with all employees, including the Directors, Engineers and support personnel. Senior/Principal Electrical Engineer - Criteria Degree in a related subject (BEng, BSc) - such as Electrical or Control Systems Engineering. Experienced within an engineering and product design environment. Able to electrically design products, including 2D detail schematic/wiring drawings. Ideally IEC 61508 Certified. Knowledge of Simulink and Stateflow modelling. Ideally some knowledge of FPGA Toolsets. LV/HV electrical experience - up to 2,000 Volts DC. Knowledge and experience of CANbus protocols. Knowledge and experience of J1939-71 and J1939 - 76 and CAN open safety. Knowledge and experience of machine functional safety EN 61508 and EN ISO 13849. Ability to update existing designs, in conjunction with the mechanical design engineers. Able to support the technical author as required. Commutable to the South Derby area. Senior/Principal Electrical Engineer - Key Responsibilities and Experience Required Capable of working with an ERP system (Microsoft NAV or similar). Able to work with associated Bills of Materials. Skilled with 2D CAD for schematic generation (ideally AutoCAD Electrical). Knowledge of AC and DC power systems, generator control or similar. Ability to support production with technical enquiries. Experienced with PLC Software and CANbus control systems Knowledge. Experience with Electrical Component Selection Methods. Preferred is experience within the Off-Road, Rail, EV or Heavy Platform Product Design. Some Knowledge of 3D CAD (ideally Autodesk Inventor). Hours and Holidays 37 hours/week (Flexible working available if needed). 7.30 - 16.00 Mon to Thursday and 7.30 - 12.30 Friday. 25 days 8 statutory holidays. Other and Benefits - After successful 3-Month Probationary Period. Pension 4% employer contribution ( 4% employee contribution). Death in Service equal to 4 x salary.
