Job Introduction
2gether Support Solutions is a Facilities and Estates services company providing support to healthcare professionals caring for over 2000 patients daily across multiple East Kent hospital sites. 2gether provides vital services including maintenance, cleaning, catering, procurement, logistics and much more.
The Role:
We are looking for a Category Buyer to join our central procurement team, based at William Harvey Hospital, on a 12 months fixed term contract, working 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday 8am - 4pm. Category Buyers are an integral part of the Procurement Department, ensuring best practice, value for money and supporting opportunities to secure 2gether’s financial position.
This is a busy role where you will be working on multiple projects, including raising orders and contracts for goods and services, providing quotations, tender, and contract management services. The Category Management team provide a pivotal service across East Kent Hospitals, in 21/22, Procurement Services processed 41,000 purchase orders with a value of £195m, the Medical and Surgical Category processed 26,000 of these orders with a total value of £51m. You will also be ensuring internal policies are followed and identifying preferred suppliers for products and services to be contracted appropriately.
The Person:
* Buying experience is beneficial for the role, including materials management and awareness of products and suppliers. We will consider procurement experience in different backgrounds however a healthcare background would be desirable.
* You will need excellent data skills with experience of excel and data analysis.
* You will be skilled in e-Procurement purchase order and contract management systems.
* Have a good knowledge of procurement procedures and processes.
Although SIPS qualifications are not essential, some level of understanding is needed for the role. We look to develop our staff, and offer apprenticeships and further SIPS qualifications within our procurement team.
