You will play a leading role in ensuring that security requirements are met throughout the lifecycle of complex missile and weapon systems, engaging with internal teams, external suppliers, and customers. Key Responsibilities Task Package Management : Lead activities across the Engineering Directorate, managing a multi-disciplinary team of engineers to design and deliver a robust, effective technical security solution within agreed budgets and timescales. Security Solutions : Manage the trade-space of protective measures to ensure the best balance between security, product safety, and customer capability without compromise. Security Case Development : Prepare and maintain a comprehensive security case, liaising with the UK Customer and their technical advisors to ensure the sufficiency of the solution. Cross-Disciplinary Leadership : Oversee the design and integration of security measures across various engineering domains (hardware, software, firmware), ensuring the solution is coherent, testable, and meets all requirements. Lifecycle Support : Work with manufacturing and support teams to guarantee the ongoing confidentiality and integrity of missile and weapon systems through production and throughout the system's life cycle. Information Control : Apply the “Need to Know” principle to ensure the secure handling of sensitive information, providing direction on the release of technical details to suppliers and customers as necessary. What We’re Looking For We are looking for a highly skilled Systems Security Architect with a strong technical background, ideally with experience in the defence or aerospace sectors. You’ll need to bring: Extensive Knowledge of missile/weapon system design, including managing the trade-offs within the system design process to ensure security, performance, and safety are not compromised. Strong Communication Skills : The ability to engage with multi-disciplinary teams, technical experts, senior management, and customers. You’ll need to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to resolve technical issues and manage complex relationships. Engineering Expertise : A background in systems engineering, electronics design, embedded software, or firmware is desirable. You’ll need to demonstrate a deep understanding of how these areas integrate into overall system security. Security Clearances : Ideally, you will be DV cleared or eligible to go through the Developed Vetting (DV) process. Problem-Solving and Leadership : Proven ability to listen, evaluate, and resolve both management and technical challenges, while maintaining the organisation's reputation with customers.
