Due to continued growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably experienced CNC Miller to join our busy and highly motivated team on a permanent contract.
The work is varied, interesting and demanding and we expect high standards for quality and performance. With a time served background you will be expected to manufacture a wide range of steel and aluminium components on our HAAS and Hurco CNC Milling machines. You will require a good practical knowledge of CNC machining. You will join our manufacturing department, ensuring that quality standards are met on all components, by following company processes, and procedures. Our products are designed to support the teaching of engineering principles, and all the finished work is visible to the end customers. We pride ourselves on delivering an excellent quality of finish and it is therefore imperative that you have great attention to detail and work to an exceptionally neat standard. Your main responsibilities will include:
1. Programming, Setting and Operating 3 axis Haas or Hurco CNC Milling Machines within a low volume, small batch environment
2. Self-inspection of components using manual measuring equipment
3. Creation of programmes, jigs & fixtures for new components
4. Ensure manufactured parts are produced in the most efficient manner
5. Setting and running multiple machines when the component and/or batch sizes allow

6. Location: Long Eaton, Nottinghamshire
7. Department: Machine Shop
8. Reporting to: Machine Shop Manager
9. Hours: 37 hours per week – Mon-Thurs 7.00am to 3.30pm (30 mins lunch), Friday 7.00am to 12.00pm (no lunchbreak).
10. Rate of pay: Competitive rate of pay
11. Contract: Full-time, permanent

Requirements
Essential:
13. Programming, setting and operating experience of CNC Milling machinery - preferably HAAS or Hurco Machines
14. CNC Milling experience within a similar hi-tech environment – ideally apprentice trained
15. Able to work accurately to deadlines
16. An ability to read 1st and 3rd angle engineering drawings
17. An enthusiastic team player with a can-do/flexible attitude
18. Continual process improvement attitude
19. Experience of using mild metals
Desirable:
20. Relevant qualifications.
21. A willingness to help in other areas of the factory should the demand arise.
22. Conventional Milling/Bridgeport experience
23. Experience of programming with Edgecam
24. Manual and/or CNC Turning experience
