Job overview
We are looking for an organised and enthusiastic inventory controller, who is driven to making a difference. This role will be within the Commercial Services department at University Hospitals Dorset.

You will be:
* Responsible for the day-to-day co-ordination, delivery and deployment of inventory management services.
* Ideally have experience of working within a purchasing, supply chain or inventory management environment or able to demonstrate transferable skills.
* Good level of keyboard skills and MS applications.
Main Duties of the Job:
* Ordering, receipting, verifying and unpacking of products/goods.
* Issuing and distributing products/goods to internal areas to support patient care.
* Analysing supply chain data to ensure uninterrupted availability of stock.
* Reviewing supply and demand to prevent overstocking and running out-of-stock.

Person specification
Qualifications
* NVQ Level 3 qualification in a supply chain, customer care or transferable subject or equivalent training and/or proven experience within warehouse or inventory control areas.
* Fork lift truck training.
* Evidence of continuing professional development.
* Full car driving licence.
* Attainment of chartered institute of procurement and supply (CIPS) certificate/foundation level qualifications.
Experience / Knowledge
* Experience of inventory / materials management or warehousing processes.
* Knowledge of operational buying processes, goods receipt/return etc.
* Operational experience gained within a multi-functional procurement or supply chain team.
* Good keyboard skills with working knowledge of applications including MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook.
* Able to operate simple machinery to facilitate safe manual handling.
Personal Attributes
* Good customer care & approachable attitude.
* Able to undertake moderate manual handling tasks through the working day/shift moving boxes, products, roll cages, trolleys etc.
* Able to work flexibly within a shift pattern.
