Following successful funding to develop the Adult Neurodevelopmental service in Gloucestershire, the Adult Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder Service are looking to recruit a Clinical Mental Health Specialist to our now expanding team.
This is an opportunity to play a key role in shaping and developing Adult Neurodevelopmental services in Gloucestershire at this exciting time of expansion.
Working as a diagnostic clinician, you would be expected to offer ASC assessments, including triage of referrals, for individuals referred to the Adult ASC and ADHD service within the Gloucestershire locality. The role would suit an experienced Mental Health clinician who is looking to develop their experience and skills in the assessment and treatment of Neurodevelopmental conditions. The successful candidate would be supported by an established clinical team to gain the specialist knowledge and skills required to fulfil the role. The successful candidate will be based at The Pavilion in Cheltenham.
The post holder will:
1. Provide Clinical Specialist input into the ASC and ADHD service.
2. Provide clinical supervision to unqualified staff, undergraduates, and students.
3. Provide clinical services within the service area covered by the community team, which comprises 4 multi-disciplinary staff.
Service delivered in a wide range of settings and locations: client homes, residential services, day care, educational facilities, GP practices, office/clinic, hospital wards, virtually.
Responsibilities include:
1. Provide specialist breadth and depth of skills and knowledge to deliver evidence-based assessment to service users with complex mental health needs/ASC.
2. Demonstrate enhanced competence in complex decision making, assessment, and the management of clinical needs.
3. Collect and collate data/information effectively for the purpose of audit, research, and service performance.
4. Mentor, supervise, and teach qualified and unqualified staff including students.
