Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

Contract: Full-Time
Salary: £90 - £120 per day
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a primary school in Harlow. This is a full-time role where you will work closely with teachers to support students' learning and development across all key stages. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in an educational setting, particularly in a primary school, and possess the skills to work independently as well as collaboratively within the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in the planning and delivery of lessons, providing tailored support to students both individually and in small groups.
* Support students with varying needs, ensuring they engage with the curriculum and achieve their full potential.
* Provide feedback and assistance to teachers on students’ progress and development.
* Supervise and support students during non-teaching times, including break times and lunchtimes.
* Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages effective learning.
* Support children with special educational needs (SEN) and those requiring additional support.
* Implement learning strategies and activities, ensuring that they meet the diverse needs of the students.
* Monitor and track student progress and assist with setting goals and targets.
* Assist with behaviour management, promoting a safe and respectful learning environment.
* Help with the preparation of learning materials and resources.
* Support the class teacher with administrative tasks as required.
Requirements:
* HLTA qualification (or equivalent) or relevant teaching assistant experience.
* Experience working with primary-aged children.
* A strong understanding of the National Curriculum.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* A proactive approach and a passion for supporting children in their learning journey.
* Knowledge or experience of working with children with additional learning needs is an advantage.
* Enhanced DBS check (Protocol Education will assist with this if necessary).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
