This is a full-time (10PA) fixed-term post that will provide a consultant-led outpatient service, as well as opportunities to undertake cross-covering for the team's Gynaecology operating lists. This post will help to increase and improve the gynaecology cancer, diagnostic, and treatment pathways as we have recently seen an increase in the acuity as well as numbers of referrals to the Gynaecology service. We are particularly keen to increase the service provision within our urogynaecology and vulva service.

Main Duties of the Job
At least 8.5 PA will consist of direct clinical care - comprising of outpatient clinics and theatre sessions with 1-1.5 SPAs.
1 SPA will contribute towards core training and professional activities and 0.5 SPA will be allocated to maintaining and improving the quality of service through managing patient complaints, development programmes, and processes for adhering to Trust and regulations.
About Us
The hospital provides a full range of general acute services for the local population and a range of specialist services for patients from further afield. These include perinatal (level 3 NICU) and high-risk obstetrics services, bariatric and laparoscopic surgery, and stroke and neuro-rehabilitation. The hospital has three day surgery theatres and five main operating theatres for all types of general surgery, trauma and orthopaedics, gynaecology, maxillo-facial, urology, ENT, and obstetrics. There is a 9-bedded combined adult intensive care/high dependency unit.
All obstetric services within the City of London and Hackney are centralised at Homerton. There has been a recent increase in the number of deliveries, and we are now delivering approximately 6,000 per year, and the London Borough of Hackney has an increasing birth rate. There is a specialist fetal medicine unit on site.
Job Responsibilities
As a senior employee of the Trust, you will work in close cooperation with and support other clinical, medical, professional, and managerial colleagues in providing high-quality, safe health care to patients. Integral to these responsibilities are the following:
1. The provision of a first-class service.
2. Effective leadership to all staff engaged in the specialty.
3. Supporting undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training.
4. Undertaking all work in accordance with Trust policies and procedures, including the Code of Behaviour.
5. Conducting clinical practice in accordance with contractual requirements and within the parameters of Homerton's business plans.
6. Contributing to the management of the clinical service and service development.
7. Providing a comprehensive outpatient service, managing consultations and record-keeping in a timely manner; ensuring the patient record is up to date in real-time with follow-on actions requested via the EPR and tasks completed in line with Trust and Service processes and SOPs, and NHS Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Person Specification
Qualifications
* On GMC's specialist register or a Specialist Registrar who is within 6 months of being admitted to the GMC's specialist register by the date of interview.
* Clinical training in basic minimal access surgery and outpatient gynaecology procedures - Benign Gynaecology - open and laparoscopic training.
* Urodynamics ATSM urogynaecology and vaginal surgery.
Clinical Skills
* Hysteroscopy.
* Urogynaecology.
* Minimal access Gynaecology surgery.
* Ultrasound scanning - intermediate level.
* Vulval diseases Colposcopy.
Leadership and Professionalism
* Ability to lead teams and change processes.
* Understanding the need for and practicing accurate and prompt medical record keeping.
* Familiarity with current national initiatives, particularly in relation to women's health.
Management Skills
* Awareness of the business targets of the service and an understanding of the Consultant role within these.
