Competitive basic starting salary £45k – £65k per annum (negotiable, depending on experience), plus performance-based bonuses

Our client specialises in empowering businesses by helping them to access a variety of funding solutions. A leader in the Research and Development Tax sector, they have expanded their offering to include Business Finance and other Tax Services. Their ultimate goal is to provide an all-encompassing finance function for their clients.
They are currently in a period of remarkable growth, successfully securing their clients over £40 million in funding since their inception in 2021.
The Role:
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for increasing B2B sales across new and existing clients through the provision of high-quality leadership, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development. This is a pivotal role that supports their ambitious growth plans, and you will therefore already be accustomed to exceeding challenging goals.
Duties & Responsibilities:
* Lead from the front, personally demonstrating how to effectively drives sales performance by deploying the latest and most effective sales techniques.
* Monitor the performance and outputs of your team’s interactions with existing and potential new clients, bringing to life interactive training plans and workshops to upskill and broaden your team’s capabilities.
* Complete regular team and individual performance appraisals, setting stretch targets and following performance management routes where appropriate.
* Hold daily team talks, regular product and service training meetings, and ad-hoc communication briefings.
* Produce proactive monthly and quarterly sales plans to mitigate against seasonality or industry challenges, giving regard to emerging risks.
* Recognise, reward and maintain a balance between colleague enjoyment and performance focus through motivational and inspiring management techniques.
* Recruit, nurture and retain top talent into your team as per business needs.
* Oversee the CRM systems and sales reporting tools, ensuring they are effectively used to track performance and sales metrics.
* Provide monthly MI accounting to senior stakeholders for the performance of your business area e.g. conversion rates, opportunities, quote to close ratio, monthly sales growth.
* Operate within company procedures and policies, ensuring a culture of ‘right the first time’ is embedded within your team.
Experience / Knowledge Required:
* Proven, successful sales management experience within financial services or tax services.
* Results focus – taking personal responsibility for the delivery of results.
* Hands-on approach to management, coaching and development.
* Positive and solution-focused mindset, with the ability to take initiative.
* Skilled, confident communicator.
* Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills.
* Strong organisational skills.
* Analytical – ability to seek out data and use this to inform your decisions.
* Knowledge of the R&D Tax Incentive.
* Knowledge of financial services such as invoice finance, asset finance etc.
* Knowledge of selling bid writing services for innovation grants.
* Proven success in leading and managing remote teams.
