Job Purpose
Responsible for all cost control activities (estimating, forecasting, monitoring and reporting) for vessels and spoolbase. Regular liaison with leadership team, project managers and teams as required to ensure accurate and timely information. Strong application of accounting principles and ensuring adequate control procedures are developed and followed.

Main accountabilities:
Change / Improvement Initiatives
•Take a lead role in the development of standardising budgeting and forecasting models to optimize efficiency within the team
•Take a lead role in implementing change / improvement initiatives
•Seek out opportunities to optimize cost and achieve our financial targets
•Take an active role in the continuous development of our cost control tools
Planning / Team management
•Co-ordination of all cost control deliverables with our global teams, ensuring compliance with correct procedures
•Preparation and issue of detailed timetables for all key deliverables, reporting potential issues /slippages in a timely manner and taking appropriate action to get back on track
•Day-to-day management of team to ensure deadlines for deliverables met, providing guidance and support as appropriate
Staff development
•Responsible for objective setting, performance appraisal, development and training for direct reports
Cost awareness / Cost management
•Actively seek to develop a strong culture of cost awareness within the Vessel and Spoolbase Operations, ensuring the highest level of cost management support
•Ensure budget holders are clearly identified for all relevant spend, ensuring that their role and responsibilities as a budget holder are well understood
•Ensure relevant support / training is provided to all budget holders
•Ensure robust cost management processes are implemented
•Ensure all main processes are documented and procedures and coding guides provided to and fully understood by all budget holders. Updates / amendments as appropriate to keep aligned with the business
•Ensure compliance of cost management processes and procedures
•Ensure timely communication to budget holders / Stakeholders with sufficient level of detail of plans, timetables and requirements for financial deliverables. Ensure adherence to successfully meet deadlines
•Ensure budget holders provided in a timely manner with sufficient levels of visibility of financial data required to effectively manage their budgets (historical cost and financial / trend analysis)
•Ensure effective meetings are held to review and challenge all financial deliverables prior to submission to ensure ownership and accountability at all levels, both within Finance and with all relevant budget holders / Stakeholders
Commercial focus / Financial performance
•Provide proactive, commercially focused financial support
•Provide timely feedback on financial performance, ensuring that operational / commercial decisions are made and carried out to address performance issues
•Ensure that all financial opportunities, risks and sensitivities are identified, quantified and communicated to relevant stakeholders in a timely manner
•Keep up to speed with operational and commercial activity

Qualifications (professional, technical, academic):
Essential:
•Experience of Cost Control depending on project size and complexity
•Experience with large companies and an ERP system
•Strong communication and presentation skills
Preferred:
•Degree in Finance / Accounting / Quantity Surveying or similar
•Proven track record of initiating successful change management
•Experience in the oil and gas industry
