We are looking for a compassionate and quality driven Consultant Neurologist colleague to join our Neurology team.
This post offers an exciting opportunity to support our Neurology service. The appointee will work closely with our existing Neurologists, our CNS's, ward staff and the teams with the Trust and community, to deliver high-quality neurological care.
The day to day work of the successful applicant will be located at the West Suffolk Hospital, supported by our excellent integrated CNS team both within the trust and the community. The post holder will deliver an outpatient and ward referral service. There are no on call duties.
Candidates should be on or eligible for inclusion onto the GMC Specialist or be within 6 months of their expected date of obtaining a CCT (or equivalent) at the time of the interview.

Responsibility for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of illness and the proper functioning of the department
Professional supervision and management of junior medical staff;
Responsibilities for carrying out teaching, examination and accreditation duties as required and for contributing, The Neurology Department also provides a ward consultation service for inpatients with neurological disorders. It is planned to make this service more responsive by providing daily input during the week. This will allow a timely assessment of patients with acute neurological disorders.
The Neurology department at the West Suffolk Hospital currently comprises four consultants, with a further day of Neurology provided by a Consultant, Dr Ed Needham, one day a week. In addition, three neurology disability nurses (with expertise in Multiple Sclerosis), three Parkinson's Disease Nurses, and two Epilepsy Specialist nurses and three secretaries
