We are currently looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Slough.
Main duties involve:
1. Overall purpose of the role is to develop and manage contract budgets and forecasts to ensure the financial control and profitability of allocated contracts.
2. Promote, follow, and influence good Project governance through the policies and procedures laid out by Cardo Group.
3. Understand and work with team targets and the Cardo business plan.
4. To develop, manage and extend commercial relationships with both new and existing clients.
5. Maintaining good relationships with all housing clients.
6. Attending and leading meetings with the client and sub-contractor.
7. Regular reporting on sub-contractor performance.
8. Developing and administering sub-contractor processes in line with SOP.
9. Managing sub-contractor and client valuation accounts to support good project governance, assurance, and finance drivers.
10. To assist the Service Delivery Manager and Operations Manager with pre-start planning, Project Execution Plans, and contract engagement strategy.
11. To manage the day-to-day cost control supported by other teams and business solutions.
12. Develop an understanding of the designated contract, specification, and pricing.
13. Assist the Contract Manager with subcontractor selection, procurement scheduling and ensure the chosen subcontractor has the appropriate order, competency, and information to carry out their work.
14. Liaise with the Service Delivery Manager and Operations Manager over contractual issues and act as required.
15. Measure progress, submit valuations, submit final accounts and retention release, and monitor receipt of payment in a timely manner.
16. Process subcontractor requests for payment in line with SOP’s.
17. Completing and maintaining cost and value budget plans and reports for the designated projects.
18. Where appropriate, assist with estimates and negotiations for future projects or phases.
19. Manage the costs on a project to ensure both the company and the client is fully advised of the cost situation or variation to contract.
20. Periodically carrying out valuations of works undertaken using SORS.
21. Preparing monthly cost/value comparisons for submission.
22. Developing and managing contract budgets and forecasts.
23. Maximising cash-flow and evaluating quotations and estimates.
24. Preparing monthly valuation and final account submissions for clients.
25. Authorising and agreeing payment of sub-contractors.
26. Providing timely and accurate financial information reports as required.
27. Providing budget reports for clients and for internal purposes.
Qualifications & Experience:
1. HND/ HNC Level, in a relevant construction acknowledged course.
2. Excellent construction technology knowledge.
3. Previous experience working with SOR.
