Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced, dynamic, and results-driven Head of Operations & Business Development to join our management team and oversee the strategic growth of our Learning Disabilities (LD) services. In this pivotal role, you will lead a portfolio of day centres, care homes, and supported living facilities, ensuring compliance with CQC regulations while driving business expansion and innovation. If you have a passion for leadership, a strong track record in managing complex care services, and a desire to make a significant impact, this role is for you.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Take full accountability for adherence to CQC standards, local authorities, and statutory regulations, maintaining high-quality care with CQC ratings no less than ‘Good’.
* Conduct Regular Audits: Visit each site at least once a week to perform audits, ensuring full compliance, up-to-date documentation, and impressive service standards across all locations.
* Drive Business Expansion: Identify and lead new business opportunities to expand our portfolio of LD services, increasing occupancy, profitability, and operational efficiency.
* Team Leadership & Development: Lead and mentor a team of managers, empowering them to enhance existing services and integrate innovative care solutions.
* Client & Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain positive relationships with staff, service users, families, social care partners, health professionals, and funding bodies, ensuring clear communication and exceptional service delivery.
* Operational Excellence: Strategize and implement initiatives to improve service quality, optimize processes, and ensure high client satisfaction across all LD services.
Key Competencies & Qualifications
* Proven Leadership in LD Services: Transparent and high-integrity leadership experience in managing services for individuals with learning disabilities, including complex needs and behaviours that challenge services.
* In-Depth Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of CQC compliance, legislation, and best practices in the care sector.
* Business Development Expertise: Demonstrated success in growing occupancy, profitability, and service offerings, with a strategic approach to identifying new business opportunities.
* Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to navigate conflicts and maintain positive relationships.
* Technological Proficiency: Strong IT skills, with experience using care management software and digital communication tools to streamline operations.
* Self-Awareness & Decisiveness: Insightful understanding of your own strengths and limitations, with the ability to escalate and seek advice when necessary.
* Resilience & Problem-Solving: Ability to work under pressure, make critical decisions, and meet challenging targets in a dynamic environment.
