This is an outstanding opportunity for a Regulatory (Health & Safety & Environment) Solicitor or Barrister of 2 or more years’ PQE/Call to join this well-regarded law firm in Leeds with the strong possibility of working on some high-profile cases. The team assists a wide range of corporate clients hailing from variety of different sectors and this might involve responding to a crisis as it emerges, dealing with regulators on site or representing clients in Coroner’s Courts or Magistrates’ Courts. They also conduct due diligence for their clients when they buy and sell companies, offer advice on product safety and, increasingly, help clients in the ESG space. They now seek a talented and motivated individual to join the team. The successful candidate will be hungry to learn (additional qualifications will be supported), keen to build strong client relationships and determined to succeed, as well as having the desire to develop their career over the medium and longer term. You will be required to manage you own caseload of smaller matters (with appropriate levels of Partner supervison at the more junior end), as well as assisting the Partners on higher value, more complex matters. Examples of matters you can expect to work on include: • some of the UK’s largest and most complex health and safety investigations • environmental compliance and enforcement matters including pollution, waste and permitting matters • major workplace safety incidents including fatalities and life-changing injuries • complex regulatory matters in the areas of healthcare, medical devices, food and transport regulation • corporate transactions and supporting clients to comply with their regulatory obligations. We are seeking applications from candidates looking to succeed and progress their career to become market leading EHS practitioners in due course. Ideally, you will have experience of working on good quality health, safety and environmental matters, having worked in private practice or in-house or at the Bar.
