Who are we looking for? The Environment, Health & Safety Manager (EH&S) is an integral role at the Ashby site. You will be responsible for the full cycle Health & Safety and sustainability efforts to support across the business. You will be driving and implementing strategies and continuous improvement, work on extended projects and ensure that compliance is conforming to legislation. The EH&S Manager will lead from the front, providing guidance and support to functions across the business. You will be the primary point of contact for all health, safety, and environmental issues, responsible for developing and promoting a strong safety and learning culture within the company. What will you be doing? Champion a safe working environment ensuring that all Health and Safety procedures are adhered to Develop and implement policies and procedures Adhering to Legal Compliance related to EHS matters and updating management on new legislation Lead investigations, record and report on all accidents Drive EHS training and communication throughout the site, planning, and providing relevant inductions and training courses for employes and contractors Establish safety audits, site walks and inspections which encourage a process of ongoing improvement in environmental and safety standards Design and implement environmental management systems Manage and continuously improve ISO14001 and ISO45001 accreditations Establish a comprehensive program of risk assessments for all operational activities including the documentation and training needs Provide reports for senior management on current safety initiatives Ensure the health & safety of all personnel through management of risk assessment programmes Maintain and ensure the application of HSE policies and procedures in line with company requirements and legislative changes Work closely with other departments to ensure procedural compliance Lead Health & Safety meetings and the election of Health & Safety representatives Liaise effectively with regulatory authorities on all environmental and health & safety issues Who are you? Ideally you will have: Bachelors degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field NEBOSH General Diploma qualification or equivalent Previous experience of working in a manufacturing, and preferably in the chemicals industry Comprehensive knowledge of UK Health & Safety Legislation Experience of carrying out and documenting risk assessments and environmental management are essential Experience in environmental management Understanding and experience of COSHH are essential An in-depth knowledge of regulations We understand that not all candidates may meet the requirements listed above.
