We are looking for a Centre Assistant at our Bedfords Park Nature Discovery Centre to work predominantly weekends plus occasional additional hours during busy school holidays.
Set in the stunning grounds of Bedfords Park, an historic parkland site of 215 acres, owned and managed by the London Borough of Havering. The nature reserve affords fantastic views over London and into Kent. Our friendly and passionate team at Bedfords Park Discovery Centre provide fantastic customer service through retail, engagement and food and beverage provisions.
The Nature Discovery Centre offers visitors a warm welcome and the opportunity to find out about the wildlife within the park. The park includes many valuable habitats such as mature woodland, species rich wildflower meadows, ponds, streams and marshy areas. The Nature Discovery Centre is built on the site of the former mansion and it commands superb views over much of east London and into Kent. Light refreshments, snacks and a gift shop are all within the Nature Discovery Centre and there is a large decked area to relax on sunny days.
We are looking for a team player who has a passion for providing a welcoming visitor experience. The post holder will work across both our café preparing food & beverage orders and in retail - ensuring excellent customer service always at the forefront. Our profits from the Nature Discovery Centre’s are used to fund the conservation, educational and other work key of the Trust.
The position is a fixed term (until 31 December 2025) part-time role working 16 hours per week mostly at the weekend on a rota basis with a starting salary of £9,518.08 per annum (FTE £22,308).
