Senior Project Manager / Product Owner - Risk and Compliance

We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager / Product Owner to join the Model Risk Management Value Stream. This individual will be supporting the strategic implementation of a new Group-wide Model Risk Management inventory system that will be used by Global Businesses & Global Functions (GB/GFs) across HSBC.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
• Working closely with the Accountable Executive to define the end-to-end product vision and strategy and conveying this vision to the multi-disciplinary Agile team and Global Business/Global Function stakeholders
• Developing a comprehensive understanding of the needs of a large user base to comprehensively assess how to deliver an optimised digital and scalable user journeys
• Prioritization of the product backlog on a regular basis, ensuring that prioritized deliverables are well understood, transparent to key stakeholders and the definition of done maximises end user value
• Assess business requirements provided by Global Business / Global Functions and decide whether they will be accepted into the backlog
• Continuously improving existing processes and functionality to resolve known pain points and improve user experience and efficiency of the model lifecycle
• Discovery exploration to identify, assess and prioritize integration and Co-Design opportunities with other Value Streams
• Take an active approach to drive alignment with other workstreams to ensure that new requirements and enhancements are thoroughly assessed, and business, data and technical architectures are analysed to leverage the best tooling available
• Working closely with the Sub-Value Stream Agile Delivery Lead to agree release strategy and sprint planning activities
• Support management of technical deliverables plan and RAID items (Risks, Assumptions, Issues and Dependencies) to ensure timely delivery of functional enhancements
• Confidently liaise with senior stakeholders and convey complex information and concepts whilst de-conflicting requirements and attaining buy-in
• Set the pace and operating rhythm, driving a culture of achievement and ensures pace by identifying and removing barriers to project success
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
• Must have prior experience delivering complex large-scale technology change as a Product Owner, Senior Project / Change Manager or Senior Business Analyst
• Proven experience communicating effectively with senior stakeholders, IT Managers and architects, with demonstrable ability to attain buy-in and influence where there may be a difference of perspective
• Technical experience working on highly integrated systems
• Ability to quickly acquire an understanding of a complex landscape and determine key areas of focus, breaking down complex deliverables into manageable work packages
• Delivery of large-scale complex projects at pace, developing high performing interchanging teams to support delivery at each stage
• Evidence of ability to make key strategic decisions and determine when escalation is appropriate
• Strong people and team management experience
• Proven experience working in a Model Risk Management environment, with demonstrable subject area knowledge is desirable
• Previous experience delivering Model Risk Management platforms such as model inventory or model validation systems or equivalent risk management systems is preferential
This role is based in Edinburgh, Birmingham, Chester or Sheffield / Hybrid.
