West Lothian Council is committed to far-reaching changes in the way we deliver our Education Services. These changes include providing the support and environment necessary for you to excel in your job and develop your abilities. Our dedication is demonstrated by the whole council's achievement of the Investors in People Standard, always aiming higher in our service delivery and improvements.
Ogilvie School Campus is a school for children with a range of additional support needs arising from complex difficulties, sensory impairments, physical disabilities, and Autism spectrum disorder. The school catchment area covers the whole of West Lothian Council.
The school has been growing year on year, now providing a full Primary and Secondary education. Significant changes, both structural and educational, are planned to create a dynamic and forward-thinking establishment that meets all pupils' needs in a nurturing environment. Effective learning and teaching is a priority, working alongside a nurturing ethos within the school. Staff are creative, barrier-removing, and caring in their approaches, allowing pupils to access the curriculum appropriately. We celebrate every child's individual success, setting high expectations to encourage young people to achieve their individual potential. This will enable them to leave school as effective contributors, successful learners, confident individuals, and responsible citizens.
The school is currently staffed by a Head Teacher, about 20 other teaching staff, 40 Advanced Pupil Support Workers, and 2 Office staff, with a school roll of around 100 children.
We are supported by a team of health professionals who regularly meet with staff, children, and parents, including a school nurse, community pediatrician, speech and language therapists, physiotherapist, occupational therapist, and children and mental health team.
There is a very positive ethos across the school, with staff, parents, and partners working collaboratively to create a community that provides the best possible care for our children.
A relevant teaching qualification and registration with the General Teaching Council for Scotland is essential.
