This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual looking to develop and build upon their project management experience and join our highly experienced and fast-growing Research & Development team to help deliver key projects across Rayner’s New Product Development pipeline, covering implantable ophthalmic devices, delivery systems, pharmaceuticals and manufacturing processes.
We are looking for a driven and ambitious individual, with some prior exposure of best practice Project Management techniques and processes, to work cross-functionally and build strong relationships with key members of the business across Operations, Production, Marketing, RA, QA, Validation and Finance.
With support from the Project Management Team, you will be responsible for leading innovative new product development and process/product enhancement projects from concept to market launch. Reporting into and working closely alongside the Head of NPD Projects, you will be accountable for the successful progress and completion of these exciting strategic projects.
What You'll Be Doing
* Work with the NPD Project team to deliver NPD projects in accordance with established Design Control and Project Management Procedures.
* Provide administrative support and undertake project tasks as required.
* Assist in the creation and maintenance of Design History Files including project plans, risk management, verification and validation, design transfer and other relevant documentation ensuring adherence to ISO13485, ISO11979, ISO14971 and other relevant standards and regulations.
* Own the creation and maintenance of Project Files including project plans, risk management, resource allocation, verification and validation, design transfer and other relevant documentation ensuring adherence to relevant international standards and regulations.
* As required, chair productive and focused project team meetings, ensuring distribution/management of actions and minutes.
* Communicate project status and escalate major issues/risks on a regular basis to the R&D Director, Project Steering Committees and Project Review Group as appropriate, ensuring objectives and progress are aligned to business needs.
* Maintain and monitor project plans, project schedules, resource, budgets and expenditures.
* Maintain a high standard of professional and technical knowledge by attending educational training/workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing networks; participating in professional societies.
* Undertake other duties appropriate to the level and character of the work as may reasonably be required by the Company.
What Experience Do You Need
* Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering or a relevant technical discipline.
* Knowledge of main project management methodologies (e.g. Prince2, APMP, Agile etc.).
* Exposure to Change Management, New Product Development and working in regulated environments.
* Proficient in the use of relevant Microsoft tools (e.g. Office, PowerPoint, Project, Teams).
* Good communication and presentation skills; confident in front of project teams.
* Good leadership skills with ability to build strong relationships.
* For Associate level, at least 2 years’ of experience of working in a project environment.
* For Project Manager level, experience of personally project managing at least one significant cross-functional project from concept to delivery.
* A working knowledge of medical device regulations and the medical device directive (e.g. ISO13485, ISO11979, FDA QSR 21, CFR 820).
* Working experience in the development of medical devices.
