Role: Geotechnical Engineer
Location: Slough
An excellent opportunity has come available for a Geotechnical Engineer from either a contractor or GI consultancy background looking for a new role that will develop their interpretive, design and analysis side. My client is a small specialist Geotechnical and Geo-Environmental Consultancy that delivers complex commercial, residential, and high-rise building schemes throughout England.
As a Geotechnical Engineer, I expect you to have at least 1 year's experience managing and supervising a variation of Ground Investigations. Ideally, you will have experience in writing Phase 1 and Phase 2 reports, but this is not essential as this role will aim to quickly progress you to running your own projects and delivering technical reports.
You will come in as a Geotechnical Engineer with training, development, and responsibilities surrounding managing projects from phase 1/ground investigation stages through to technical reports and final invoice.
Geotechnical analytical and design capabilities include:
Interpretive reporting, foundation recommendations/preliminary design, calculations, ground movement, specifications, pile groups, retaining walls and slopes, re-use of foundations, tunnel/structure interaction, and basement heave.
Geotechnical Engineering Specification:
1st class degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology, Geology, Environmental Sciences, etc.;
MSc in Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology, or Geoscience ideally.
At least 12 months' experience within the delivery of Geotechnical / Geo-Environmental Ground Investigations;
Ideally, delivery experience of Phase 1 and Phase 2 reports but not essential.
UK driving licence.
