The Faculty of Environmental and Life Sciences are excited to be announce recruitment for a part time, permanent administrator to join the friendly Faculty Operating Service (FOS) team supporting the School of Geography and Environmental Science and the School of Psychology. The role is varied and no two days are the same. In this varied role you’ll work closely with academics, admin staff and students to ensure that the Schools are fully supported in line with FOS core services.
The role sits within FOS and it will support the delivery of an excellent, administrative support for the academic community within the two Schools. The successful applicant will be motivated, enthusiastic and a proactive team player who is able to work effectively in a flexible and responsive environment.
Activities which are part of the role include but not limited to; act as first point of contact for a range of enquiries, organising travel and accommodation, financial administration, HR administration, support space and facilities work, ordering stationary and catering supplies, ordering catering, event support, updating SharePoint sites, managing mailboxes, and acting as secretary on meetings including minuting meetings ensuring high level of confidentiality at all times
To be successful in this role you will:
Have the ability to build effective and credible working relationships and liaise confidently with academics.
Be adaptable, flexible, proactive and a team player with strong interpersonal skills and a positive and enthusiastic approach
Have excellent time management and organisational skills and the ability to manage your own workload effectively to meet business requirements
Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as up to date MS Office skills

The role is currently hybrid with a mix of working from home and on Highfield Campus but could be subject to change.
