We are a practice team recognised for our great team morale and high QOF achievement situated in a semi-rural location in Calverton, Nottingham. Our patient demographic is mixed allowing for the successful candidate to utilise current skills and develop their potential. Main duties of the job 18 hours per week worked over two days (Monday and Tuesday) plus the ability to cover for annual leave and sickness Dispensing acute and repeat prescriptions requests received electronically and those delivered to the surgery. Updating patients repeat screens on doctors instructions. Dispensing private prescriptions, recording them and collecting private charges. Ensuring correct handling, storage and record keeping of controlled drugs Dealing with tasks and electronic letters as per GP instruction Handing out prescriptions and collecting charges when appropriate. Sorting, counting and endorsing prescriptions where necessary and completing backs of prescriptions. Re-authorisation of repeat medications working within GP guidance Ordering appropriate quantities of goods via the wholesalers, checking goods as and when they are delivered and entering them into stock. Returning incorrect goods to the wholesalers. Stocking shelves, refrigerators and other storage areas. Removing out of date stock from the shelves, refrigerators and other storage areas. Disposal of returned unused medicines. About us The Calverton Practice is a long-established dispensing GP Practice covering Calverton and the surrounding villages with a list size of approximately 10,500. We have a team of 6 GP partners, 3 salaries GPs and as a training practice host both GP registrars and medical students. Our nursing team currently consists of 3 nurses, 1 nurse associate, a paramedic and 3 HCAs who are supported by staff from across our local PCN including pharmacists, physiotherapists, and mental health OTs. We also have a large, supportive administration/managerial team. As well as working in a great team, a recent extension and refurbishment programme provides an excellent environment in which to work.
