SRM are preparing for the commencement of a major programme of construction works in Port Talbot, South Wales. The works to be undertaken will involve heavy construction/ civil engineering works across a variety of industrial work fronts over the next 3 to 4 years, commencing initially with a series of enabling works ahead of the main programme of works commencing Q3 : 2025.

If you are a Quality Managerwith experience working on large multi-million-pound multi-disciplinary projects, we have a great opportunity for you to join our Team in Port Talbot to work on an interesting, complex and technically challenging project. The project value will be in excess of £200m and will be undertaken under an NEC form of contract.

The Quality Manager role
\n
\n
* Effectively guide project teams in the day-to-day implementation of effective quality management practices.
\n
* Work closely with site teams to identify and effectively manage quality risks whilst driving engagement.
\n
* Support Design Teams to ensure that Quality risks are considered and addressed through design mitigation.
\n
\n
\n
* Ensure Quality Package Risk Workshops sessions (or equivalent) are taking place within the appropriate timeframe at the commencement of each project.
\n
* Review the effectiveness of project implementation of project quality risk controls over the life of their projects, paying particular attention to subcontractor controls like ITPs, benchmarks, void closures, mock-ups, etc.
\n
* Conduct technical site quality inspections across every package to ensure quality performance.
\n
* Champion the use of FieldView for inspections.
\n
\n
Experience:
\n
\n
* Proven record of accomplishment in construction and engineering environment in the construction and engineering environment
\n
* HNC or equivalent in an Engineering od construction Discipline with practical hands-on experience in a project delivery capacity within the construction industry on construction projects of a comparable size, scale, and complexity to that being undertaken within the Business Unit.
\n
* Strong understanding of Building Regulations, Construction Law, and Quality Specifications in the UK construction sector
\n
* Familiarity with ISO9001:2015
\n
* Excellent presentation and written communication skills
\n

* You are passionate about quality, can influence and inspire others by taking them on the journey to enable an understanding of the importance of quality. As a potential multi-project-based position, you will have the ability prioritise tasks, identify risks and be highly organised.
\n
* You will have working knowledge of digital technology in construction and feel at ease auditing building projects. With experience in quality management systems including ongoing development and site quality practices, you will have or be working towards Chartered Member of the CQI / CIOB / ICE or equivalent.
