Salary: Scale E - Starts at £29,109 rising by yearly increments to a maximum of £33,264 per annum
Please note that the above salary is based on working 37 hours per week. If this role is part-time or you are appointed on a part-time basis your salary will be prorated to reflect this. Exceptions to starting salary may apply if you are an existing Devon & Cornwall or Dorset Police Staff employee substantively posted to a role at the same Scale.

Type of working arrangement: Hybrid Worker - Hybrid working is a form of flexible working where workers spend some of their time working remotely (usually, but not necessarily, from home) and some in the employer's workspace.
Hours per week: this role is 15 hours per week. However, we welcome applications from individuals wishing to work on a part-time basis and we are willing to consider flexible working patterns subject to business need.

About the role:
This is an exciting opportunity to support the tactical delivery of our positive action strategy across Devon & Cornwall Police and Dorset Police. You will be helping to address workforce under-representation across both Forces.
The role encourages creativity to develop, co-ordinate and deliver a range of engagement and recruitment initiatives. Developing and maintaining relationships with under-represented communities is a key aspect of this role.
Essential Skills & Experience:
* An understanding of organisational equality and diversity issues and awareness of positive action measures.
* Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills as this position requires daily contact and delivery of positive action events, presentations to colleagues, staff, partners and communities, from all backgrounds and will be essential in building trust and confidence. Written communications skills and ability to develop and use social, online and other media to support Positive Action.
* Experience of building and maintaining relationships with members of the community and individuals.
* Experience of providing specialist advice and direction to others, including those in more senior roles, on topics that the post-holder will become familiar with and with support from line and professional managers when required.
* Excellent planning and organising skills; with experience using these skills to manage a day-to-day workload, to organise and manage events, develop, deliver and evaluate larger projects, including working alongside and sometimes coordinating others.
* Excellent IT skills and experience in use of all Microsoft packages and social media tools.
* To be enthusiastic, self-motivated and flexible; demonstrating a real belief in public services, focussing on what matters to the public and how this role fits into the alliance.
* Must hold UK drivers’ licence unless prevented by reason of disability. Reasonable adjustments will be considered.
This role will be based in Exeter and cover the Devon area.
