Job Summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join a friendly, motivated and enthusiastic team. Ward 15 is an 18-bedded care of the elderly ward caring for Dementia and Delirium patients and part of the medical directorate. The team provides high standards of care for the elderly promoting mobility and well-being, preventing deconditioning.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will work under the direct supervision of the registered nurse and will be expected to undertake fundamental aspects of patient care. The role includes housekeeping duties, providing personal care to patients and ensuring the patients' daily activities of living needs are met to the highest standards.
The successful candidate will be involved in motivating patients to achieve some adjusted level of independence and create stimulation for patients while they are in hospital.
The individual will be required to have good communication skills to relate to patients, members of patients' families, and the multidisciplinary team that works within the clinical area.

The successful candidate is expected to have a kind, caring, and compassionate nature, demonstrating empathy to patients and relatives with good communication skills. The candidate will be responsible to the Ward Manager, Ward Sister, and the qualified nurse in charge of the shift. All staff are expected to act professionally at all times and have a flexible approach when it comes to the day and night shift patterns that they are expected to work.
