Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for a Discipline Lead - Waste and Environmental, with a background in nuclear on a staff basis, to be located in Warrington, Newbury or Bristol with a hybrid working model.
Key Responsibilities
* Support development and implementation of capability strategies and plans.
* Manage resource supply to meet near-term and strategic demand.
* Monitor and maintain staff utilisation.
* Support development and implementation of capability career development processes and frameworks.
* Manage team member performance and development.
* Ensure that appropriate coaching, mentoring and training has been identified for staff.
* Maintain capability SQEP arrangements.
* Management of capability succession plan and graduate recruitment.
* Management of stakeholder plan and key customer relationships.
* Management of capability training plan through the identification of training and development needs.
* Act as point of contact for capability for input to projects, bids and wider representation.
* Business winning including managing customer relationships, customer growth plans, developing opportunities and estimates, solution and proposal preparation. Use knowledge to identify, qualify and develop opportunities and new work streams.
* Support business promotion activities by preparing and delivering presentations, build and maintain academic links, attend and review conferences & generate and present technical papers.
* Maintain knowledge of industry best practice, promote a culture of best practice, and provide leadership to driving culture development and change.
* Identify new tools and techniques for use by the team.
* Ensure that tools, procedures, codes and standards are correctly identified and applied to engineering and technical activities.
* Identify continuous improvements and innovations in capability service provision.
* Delivery of health, safety, quality, environmental and security accountabilities through personal example, audit, management and holding team accountable.
* Leading Self: Is a role model, demonstrating the businesses principles, promoting health, safety and wellbeing, respect and inclusion.
* Leading Others: Owns the performance and development of their team members, including effective and ongoing communication and feedback.

Experience / Qualifications / Skills
Essential:
* Degree (or equivalent qualification) in relevant technical discipline.
* Experience in the application of their discipline to the relevant scientific service.
* Experience in supporting projects throughout the service lifecycle.
* Proven line management of technical teams.
* Engineering or Science degree.
