Job Title: Welding Team Leader - RailwayType: PermanentLocation: Hereford Salary Dependant on experience Job Reference: BMWELDTL I am looking for a highly experienced and seasoned Welder who has experience with thermite welding, specifically within the railway sector to deliver engineering and technical excellence across the West Midlands and South West, based in Hereford.This role would perfectly suit an existing high level / senior Welder, or a current Welding Team Leader working within the Rail industry.As a Team Leader, you will be directing, organising, and motivating a high performing team of professionals.Job specific details: Implement and uphold proper safety measures for staff under your supervision, including contractors.Perform tasks safely and in line with established safe work practices, method statements, or relevant guidelines.Carry out duties for which you have received the necessary training and possess the required competence.Execute and oversee work tasks in a safe, efficient manner, adhering to all applicable standards.Monitor and verify the quality of work performed, ensuring assets comply with established standards.Ensure that staff under your supervision possess the necessary and valid qualifications.Confirm that vehicles, tools, equipment, and materials under your responsibility are in good condition and are used, stored, or disposed of appropriately.Provide accurate reports on work completed or not completed, and maintain records as required.Support your own professional development and that of others.Comply with company policies and procedures. Desirable skill set:Capable of leading, inspiring, and guiding a team.Proven experience in establishing and implementing safe work practices.Skilled in organising and overseeing the safe and effective execution of tasks.Proficient in demonstrating, encouraging, and embedding safe working behaviours within the team.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Knowledgeable and experienced in welding and grinding inspection, fault identification, maintenance, and renewal methods.Familiar with applicable standards, procedures, and guidelines.Possess and maintain the qualifications required for this role by business necessity.Willing and able to operate vehicles as needed for business operations.Hold or be working towards an NVQ level 2 or 3 (or equivalent) in welding or have attained the appropriate level of knowledge gained through equivalent relevant experience.
