About the Role:
We are seeking a dynamic Principal Structural Engineer to join our expanding multidisciplinary consultancy. This role encompasses managing design quality, ensuring profitable project delivery, and supporting the Managing Director in achieving team objectives. The projects span across residential, commercial, retail, educational, industrial, and manufacturing structures, with values ranging from £0.5 million to £20 million.
Responsibilities:
1. Liaise with statutory authorities, architects, the design team, and contractors to ensure project coordination.
2. Participate in client meetings, design discussions, and site inspections, providing detailed reports and actionable feedback.
3. Manage and mentor engineers and technicians, ensuring resource allocation aligns with project needs.
4. Contribute to bids, tenders, and other business development initiatives.
5. Conduct structural surveys and provide recommendations on structural issues, including remedial measures if required.
6. Ensure compliance with CDM regulations 2015 and maintain high-quality written reports.
Requirements:
1. A Master's degree (MEng) in Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
2. Chartered Membership or Associate Membership of the ICE or IStructE.
3. A minimum of eight years' extensive experience in structural design, working with materials such as concrete, steel, masonry, and timber.
4. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to produce detailed design calculations to British Standards and Eurocodes.
5. Proficiency in MasterSeries, Tekla, and other relevant design software.
6. Exceptional communication skills with experience mentoring and developing team members.
