Working as part of a skillful multi-discipline team, Head Medical are seeking a Consultant Anaesthesia (General) to come to work for a leading private hospital in the UK.
Based in Emerson Green, on the outskirts of Bristol, you will work as part of this professional, friendly, and compassionate team. This organisation focuses on ensuring that our patients receive high-quality treatment quickly in clean and comfortable surroundings.
Emersons Green is a suburban neighbourhood and civil parish in South Gloucestershire, England. It is part of the Bristol Built-up Area, 7 miles (11 km) northeast of Bristol city centre. Overall, Emersons Green has a quiet, relaxed feel. Many of the streets are landscaped with mature trees and the occasional modern sculpture. Its local shops and cafes offer convenience while Downend, Kingswood and Mangotsfield provide more choices just a short car ride away.
As the successful appointee in this key role, you'll be anaesthetising patients for all kinds of procedures – from ophthalmology to orthopaedics, and from gynaecology to general surgery. Alongside your clinical responsibilities, you'll also have the chance to get involved in the administrative and managerial aspects of the department, and in the development of less experienced colleagues.
This is on an elective basis except where a postoperative patient requires a return to theatre. You additionally will be required to attend OPD on a rota basis to help in the pre-assessment of patients prior to surgery.
The post holder will be required to have completed a substantial number of procedures identified above independently. Applicants will be expected to have an excellent clinical quality record and be able to demonstrate the ability to perform efficiently in theatre.

A typical job plan will comprise 40 hours of clinical activity per week, including Saturdays on occasions, with flexible elements. Five hours for SPA is given per week, but employees are expected to work flexibly where necessary when colleagues are on leave - rotas are planned months in advance.

The Hospital
* CQC rated good
* Medium-sized hospital, features three operating theatres, a day surgery theatre, and an endoscopy suite, along with diagnostic imaging and physiotherapy departments.
* Currently has 25 in-patient beds
* Outpatients department sees patients from all specialties available within the hospital such as ear, nose, and throat (ENT), general surgery, orthopaedic surgery, urology, ophthalmology, gynaecology, and pain management. The physiotherapy service provides a service to both inpatients and outpatients.
Requirements to apply?

o UK registered Medical Degree.
o Past record of FRCA academic achievement or equivalent specialised training.
o Full and Specialist GMC Registration in Anaesthesia.

o Wide training and experience in anaesthesia.
o Able to offer expert clinical opinion on a range of problems in anaesthesia.
o Able to take full and independent responsibility for delivering service without direct supervision.
